We are a dynamic, UK local business partnership with a worldwide customer base.

With over 10 year's experience in the watch trade, we work hard to source highly collectible, beautifully rare and unique vintage timepieces.

Established in Harrogate, North Yorkshire UK since April 2010, we have a high stock turnover, we buy and sell vintage watches from our own collection and also on a commission basis for clients.

We also carry out repairs (thanks to our experienced professional watchmaker).

We offer an effiecient repair service at significantly less than the high-street price.

History

The Retro Vintage Watch is the brainchild of two young men, from a vibrant spa town in the North of England.

The Retro Vintage Watch began as a small venture, first conceived in Harrogate, Yorkshire (UK). Born out of friendship, Simon's passion for vintage watches and Ian's desire to create something new, the friends rented a single cabinet in SPACE Harrogate Retro Store in Spring 2010 and created the Retro Vintage Watch brand.

Initially starting with just one cabinet of watches, proceeds from sales were reinvested and the collection grew.

Retro Vintage Watch has since become a professional business partnership, selling over 2000 watches to customers and collectors in Yorkshire and Worldwide. In March 2011 the partners left other employments to focus all their energies here.

We are a VAT Registered UK Business Partnership and complete our returns in timely fashion online, (with the help of our accountants).

There have been many people who have helped us on this journey so far.

They know who they are so we will not name them all here.

The retail environment is always changing and we enjoy the challenges it brings.

We aim to collect and retail desirable classic timeless watches while offering efficient customer service.

Simon Mellor

Simon has a full 10 year's experience in the jewellery and high end watch trade.

Having previously working for the key independent established firms in the Yorkshire area, he is perfectly positioned in his role directing the retail side of our business.

Simon's living room contains bookcases full of horological literature and QP Magazines - he is an active watch enthusiast. Currently, Simon wears a striking Breitling Crosswind Special Edition Chronograph.

Simon is the man to talk to regarding part exchanges, sales, valuations and repairs.

His knowledge is increasingly valuable to our business as our sales and customer base grow.

Ian Abbott

Ian has developed the e-commerce, book keeping & logistics side of the business. Following several years of finance and business support administration experience he oversees the smooth running of the business.

A technology graduate, Ian enjoys photographing the timepieces and administrating websites (like this one.)

Ian is also a buyer for our sister site retro digital watch, sourcing new retro watches, tracking sales and dispatching the watches.
